bleagh. and did i mention? i didn't know that a particular someone whom i was supposed to keep a secret from has actually been reading my blog.

fortunately..

he had the reaction that jon lee predicted he would have. PHEW. we just laughed it off -- cept that i kinda felt like the joke. haha.

growing backwards

funny how it seems like it's only after i am finally entering adulthood that i actually feel a BIT like "daddy's little girl". (even typing this feels weird.)

i suppose being away from home does strange things.

please dont hurt me!

I had a very productive evening today, thanks to isuri, a macroeconomics classmate. We booked a discussion room and hard-cored for 2 plus hours and covered 6 lectures worth of work. Good stuff man. I also managed to finish going through the rest of my macroecons lectures today.

The past week has been the most challenging week in my entire life.

I kid you not.

God’s really stretching my faith here. Really. I also have never felt so much tension for such an extended period of time ever before. The stress is also not the type you get from exam stress, or worrying about what course to take. All the emotions and thoughts i’ve been going through the past week are completely new.

Tell you what, i did the silliest thing (or one of the silliest things) i’ve done in my years as an earthling today. I went running in the afternoon. Was planning to jog to dong’s place.

Aw..

Actually...

i don’t know if i should be continuing the story cause mummy reads this and she might just flip upon reading this......

Ok anyway, i got lost luh. Kept asking for directions, but lost means lost luh! And i didn’t wanna call dong cause he was working on his 5000 word essay. I was pushed to my limits this afternoon man with the Australian sun burning my skin. I’d gotten over the frustration, but was overwhelmed by desperation and fear. I’m extremely thankful for jon lee though. i was already in tears when i called him to tell him i was lost and.. this guy ah! Just laughed at me and .. ok luh, honestly i couldn’t be happier to see a familiar face. SO SO glad he came to pick me up. seriously i.. i dont know how to express my RELIEF when he said he could come.

rahh!! This whole ordeal shall be my secret from dong till he finishes his essay. Im actually quite scared that he’ll get upset with me for being so silly. BUT HEY! I look back and im actually quite glad i had that experience! It was... like an adventure that i never quite completed but punched in the “cheat code” or something to complete.

definitely something i'll remember for the rest of my life. at least i've got a story to tell my grandchildren! YAY! :D

Provider

woohoo. happy.
well, nope i still havent found someone to take over my lease, not have a found a housemate.
BUT i was chatting with the receptionist downstairs and she said many people take over lease breaks in december. which is really encouraging. don't understand? nevermind.

AND she also helped me photocopy my condition report for my new apartment. haha that saved me both time and money.

on top of that, i bumped into dyanne on the way up and she asked me if i wanted pasta cause she'd cooked extra! i was so hungry but didn't feel like cooking. i enjoyed her pasta - haha she cooks better pasta than me. (she prolly cookes better ANYTHING than me).

dong was a real gem today too. we went over to my new apartment after class to do the condition report. and who better to get help from than an obsessive compulsive boyfriend right.
HAHAHA.. well. things are starting to settle. i might be getting a free study table from a church friend, and i'm also getting 4 chairs for 20bucks. eh heh. slowly furnishing my place, most of which will be done after exams. i wanna concentrate on my work mann!

today was a good day - considering how much i've been stressing out of late. nicky and i went running yesterday. we went down the yarra - totally wanted to pengsan!

i feel the drive to study now! (haha i should.)

who sez God duzzent provide ey?

happenings at the k house

just got back from tiff and eddie's birthday gathering at the k house.
lotsa fun and laughter as usual. daryl's got the gift of making people laugh! he's just a natural. kudos. oh i met sam chandra at the party, cept that i didn't know he was a chandra till this other guy rob told me. hope they upload photos on facebook soon!

shuks and andrew came over to study yesterday. i cooked indomee for shuks and myself for dinner, and microwaved this instant beef lasagne thing from safeway for tung. eh heh heh. eh, my indomee was more balanced than normal ok, i had vegies with garlic, egg and crab meat. :)
i am quite glad they came over cause we not only managed to study, but we also shared about a couple of things with each other which i really do treasure.

i've cooked a fair bit this week and it felt good. i was really excited about cooking claypot chicken (for the second time) for dong on thursday and it turned out better than the first time. yay! haha i kinda understand how cooking can sometimes feel like art now. it's like being able to mix stuff, see things change colour, change texture, start to smell nice... or burn. i tried making lentil soup on friday too. but it turned out slightly tasteless. owell.

ps tim and i had a good chop-chop catch-up session after service today.

mm.

churros

"can i have one churro please?" i asked the churro guy who looked rather fierce and scary.
"ONE? i'll give you TWO" he says as he smiles.
he returns with 2 churros in a white paper bag and just as i was to hand him an extra dollar for the 2nd churro, he tells me "one dollar!"
we both have these wide smiles plastered on our faces as i happily thank him for making my day.
churros never tasted so good. hahahaha.

that was saturday. i got home from the victoria market and was fast asleep by 5pm. i only woke up 17 hours later the next morning for my 1pm law class.

i'm extra happy today cause
1) i've handed in both ATA and macro economics assignments, plus, i didn't have to work under a lot of pressure (apart from what mummy gives) for them cause i had pretty good time management this time. let's hope my results are good too. haha.
2) also, guess what i saw today!
i saw a FULL rainbow. hah! bet you've never seen one before. pretty!
3) i cooked well today! muahaha! claypot chicken without claypot and chicken! nah. just without claypot. not bad for a first i should say. i've even got enough for lunch tmr. wheee!
4) i got a letter from a not-so-secret admirer! OH! and i also received mirasol's post card all the way from new york a couple of days back! :D

cant live to eat

had lunch with the housemates at port melbourne today. haha i like this picture with the italian waiter cause we were all joking about how his cheek was so warm against mine. AHAHAHA! he appears to enjoy his job quite a bit and it really makes a difference. haha lishan looks so happy.

ANYWAY, it was good catching up with the rest again, even though most of us were stressing about getting back to the city before 3.30 because we had assignments due when uni starts again the coming week.

lunch felt like it was still making its way to my stomach when it was time to leave for dinner with mandy, kensington guys and co. we had dinner at old kingdom which is well known for its peking duck. it's so good that you have to order in advance. and.. one duck can probably pay for half the shopping i did with mummy. lol. yeah.....

there's something about the way that lady asked us for loose change that didn't feel right. she was dressed in casual work attire, hair done up nicely and all. her story was that her car had run out of petrol and forgot to bring her wallet and her phone was flat. so. yeah. i dunno. she's probably on drugs. i'd wanted to ask to see her car keys.. but.. what's the point right? you can prove that she's not really in the situation she claims to be in, but so what? either way, it all boils down to whether you're gonna give her some cash, or if you're just gonna look right past her and pretend that your hearing's impaired.

i reallly dont like having to make decisions in situations like this. what different outcomes can there be?
1) give her money which she uses on drugs to make her happy for a fleeting moment
2) give her money which she uses to feed herself.
3) ignore her and pretend she's never existed.
4) buy her a tram ticket so she can go home and get her wallet which is probably empty anyway so she'll ask for money....
5) buy her food
6) buy her food and turn her to a welfare organization
7) buy her food, talk to her, point her to a welfare organization, tell her about an Unconditional Love.

shikes. the options get harder and harder.

honestly, i was quite scared becuase she was really imposing. WWJD?

construction

i'm working on my macroeconomics assignment at a study carrel in the baillieu library.
i'm right beside the window which overlooks a part of uni that's under construction and i can see very clearly what some of the constructors are doing. looking at the rows of steel structures and the crane that was lifting up a temporary workroom that looked like it was made up of corrugated tin sheets is quite fascinating.

i remember back in singapore when one of the houses that my room on the 15th floor overlooked was being reconstructed. the construction workers were climbing here and there, working on this, fixing that. and i wished i could be a construction worker for a day just to experience the thrill of climbing in those structures.

this building that they're constructing is more massive than that house, but small enough so that i'm able to look at it and see the different parts of the building's skeleton, not just a massive mess of metal mesh.

a few hundred years ago there wouldn't be such a structure. back in biblical times, there would definitely not have been anything close to such construction work. and thinking of the amount of progress cilivization has had to go through to reach such a stage is rather mindblowing. how can i not thank God for the amazing way He made our brains? always thinking of ways to improve, thinking of things to create! WOW!

now sitting in this old library that's got dust collecting on cobwebs on the window pane, i feel just a tad closer to the person who fed his family with money he earned from laying this wall, making the foundations that hold this structure up and fixing in this window im now looking out of.

haha maybe i should do a major in environments afterall!
