ma man friends

sometimes i find myself on the look out for guys that can be an elder brother figure for my younger brother. and i think i particularly enjoyed myself today because caleb was around some of my closer guy friends whom i.. well.. whom i think are great. :)

after dropping pat and adrian off at fed square, jon lee brought caleb to Boost - which i think is highly overrated (and i made my opinion quite clear hahaha), but jon lee just went "Come caleb! i buy for you!" and we found ourselves walking to the juice bar.

caleb and i also went rock climbing with a bunch of people from LE. somehow tim and caleb paired up and belayed each other. :)

pat adrian caleb and i had dinner together with chris and vong, two people who can get rather intense in the things they talk about. dinner was alright. they all tried grill'd burgers - which i seem to having a lot of lately.

worn from the rock climbing though. caleb says im good. HAHA. adrian told me. it's funny getting a compliment from him, in a way.

that's tim belaying me and quite a few of the others cheering me on. haha.

feisty

frustrated from being unable to reach my housing agent since a couple of weeks back. i dont trust Peter Grande as much as i used to. Totally didn't meet my standards of professionalism.

craft

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfjxGNOgv_o i think he would make a really good teacher.
i like that he's hand-making something and putting so much effort into it.
i like that he's so careful and thoughtful in his design.
i like that he made a video that's not perfect. haha.

a complaining singaporean

wha i can't stand the way people do things so inefficiently and slipshoddily around here.
i just found a "failed delivery attempt" DHL card for me in my stack of old letters that i missed and now i can't even track the delivery because the deliveryman left the delivery date blank.

i dont trust the australian post system either.

yay singapore, i'm coming home.

little faith

how cute is Faith?? I can't help but keep looking at this picture whenever i see it on my computer (i ripped it off one of the guys in church).
i was feeling lousy on my way to coffee ministry today. then i thought of grabbing sushi before meeting the rest, but it was rather late (considering many shops start closing at 5pm), and i wasn't sure if the sushi store was open as it was close to 7.
so i prayed and asked God to please let it be open. and i told God that i wanted crispy chicken and salmon handrolls. i turned the corner and headed towards the sushi shop.
it was open!! :D (but it was about to close)
it only hit me that God was paying attention to what i was saying (of course He does, but sometimes i just think yayasurehelistenstoeveryoneandwhatimsayingisnotthatimportant) when i saw only 3 sushi rolls left, and one was a crispy chicken handroll and the other was a salmon!!
well, i thought it was crispy chicken. i read the label and it said calamari. drats. anyway, i pointed to the two, and the guy serving me went "crispy chicken and salmon?"
i was like "WHAT?? that's crispy chicken???"
COOL STUFF! GOD YOU LOVE ME SO MUCH! God, you're amazing.
You.
Are.
Amazing.
it was crispy chicken :)
i suppose you could see this to be a very small thing. but it was a personal encounter for me because of the context it was in. i was feeling crappy. and that's an understatement. what i needed most then was a reassurance from my Creator. and that's what He gave me,
because He knew.

pins in your ears

ok i confess: i eavesdrop on my neighbours' conversations. not on purpose though. and not always!

and almost every time i do, i'll always wonder if it is normal for people to gossip and b*tch so much and if i'm just a little bit overprotected. cause all that b*tchin' is scary. (scary enough to make me reflect and think la - that's how scary)

surprises surprises

keep gettng surprises the past two days.
yesterday, shieming baked me a mini cheesecake! omg *drooools.
then last night while i was in the library, greg called and asked me if i was home so the guys could drop off an exam study pack for me :D
haha so sweet ya. it was very funny how nick just stuck his hand outta the car and dropped the bag of goodies in my hands and i had no idea who else was in the car.

then today i was studying at lygon court for a bit, and david came along and got me a bag of puff pastries! aw.

mm. all these things make it harder to stay healty and keep a balanced diet during the exam period ey? come to think of it, exam periods almost always are the unhealthiest of times. ok ciao.

happy birthday chinx! haha (new name!)

i like being alive :)

i'd wanted to post sthg up last friday after my night jog with candice joey and david but the internet was down.

running thru the city on a friday night is not very fun. it's still bustling with people, but half of them are out to party, some of them are drunk (so early in the night) and they just mock you cause you're in sports attire instead of party clothes. i actually really dislike it. if there's one thing about melbourne that turns me off is the lack of self control when it comes to drinking. fine if you have this huge drinking culture, but there comes a point where the melbournian culture swings from friendly and warm in the arvo to dodgy and offensive at night.

our course got a lot smoother once we passed fed square to the river. quainter, and there were only couples looking for a respite in a serene, almost-romantic edge of the city. i quite enjoyed that.

i really like the speed you feel when you're sprinting. it's different from being in a speeding car. i feel so much more alive when i feel those muscles being pushed to their limit. i admire people who can run really fast. still remember how my heart would start pumping really fast whenever i imagined myself racing in a sports stadium on a 100m sprint. crap. im prolly so much slower now with my lack of exercise, and all the weight i've put on.

OWELL. life's still good :)
