now THIS feels like the new year

i just came back from a weekend with the other ocf leaders at kimgarra. with this bunch of people, you can have fun, be silly, talk nonsense and still find that in each person there's a place where you can just be so vulnerable and open.. and when you speak of things of such great importance and significance, there's comfort in knowing that they see it and they know it for themselves as well.

i feel more ready to start the year now, even though there's a fair bit of uncertainty.
there's so much going on already, im glad to only have one class tmr.

We will visit some native grassland sites, and meet with people responsible for managing these sites. Sites visited will be Galada Tamboore (Campbelltown) and Malcolm Creek at Craigieburn. We will return by 1pm.

DID I MENTION HOW WINDY MY PLACE IS???

it's absoloutely fantastic!! i was at home this afternoon (for once. haha) and i felt it! i felt the breeeeze blowing from my living room through to my room!!

now almost every time i feel the wind im reminded that God loves me.

long-awaited brunch

one of my favourite things to do is to go for brunch with people i can be COMPLETELY myself with at a nice cafe-type place. breakfast is good too, just that some people (one in particular) cannot get up early enough.

d and i went to panette today. i liked the place - space was good, lighting was good, no weird smells. i really liked the smoked salmon scrambled eggs. i think i'd give that 8/10.

mushrooms: 5/10 normal
hash brown: 5/10 not the type i was looking for, but still alright. maybe 4.5
bacon: dong ate it all. im not a fan.

on the whole, not a bad place to go for breakfast. like i said, the eggs were good.(would have uploaded pictures, cept the pictures refuse to be uploaded.)

insanely glitch free

i was praying so hard that my luggage wouldn't be overweight so i wouldnt have to pay.

when i checked my luggage in at the airport the night before it was 5kg over the limit! but guess what the guy just let me pass, like he didn't see anything. to me, that's a prayer answered!

God's just been answering one prayer after another the past couple of days and i wont post too much cause some of it's sensitive. i'llpost this one more though.

my vodafone sim card was faulty and it couldn't be detected by my phone. i went to a vodafone kiosk and they were really unhelpful, so i was really glad that they quickly referred me to a vodafone store. the next store i went into was kinda like a middle-man type store which dealt for optus and vodafone and they told me to buy a new sim card. but i was asking God to let me get the whole thing fixed for less than 5 bucks. so i told the salesperson that it wasn't my fault that the sim's died. so she gave me directions to the nearest vodafone store where i got everything fixed up in less than 5 min for free.

once again, i'd call that another prayer answered because it's so rare you get things working so quickly here in melbourne. efficiency wise, singapore pwns. hands down.

my first night inthe apartment alone was good too! i was really afraid i'd start feeling lonely as i did last year. plus it was a new and bigger place and no one else around. when i woke up this morning i realised that it felt so much like home partly because there's so much clutter in my room that it resembles my singapore room so much it's uncanny. there's hardly any space to walk. haha. fun fact for you if you dont already know.

happy valentine's day!

this post has absoloutely no relation to valentine's day, cept for the title.

anyway, this panda keychain came as a total surprise some time last month and i only took a picture of it just now just before i removed it from it's comfortable orange ball and married it to my pick thumbdrive.

so little time so much to do. i guess when this happens, we just have to prioritize - what we need, what is right, what our loved-ones need.

oh i saw fireworks yesterday too! was waiting outdoors for jonlee to use the washroom and i called dong. then the fireworks suddenly went off.

they were really really pretty, just that by the time i remembered that i had a camera with me they were already finishing. this is the only picture i got of it.

this week went by so quickly.

spending time with the brother's something really new for me. we've been hanging out with nigel and the cellgroup a bit. that im really happy about. and i just got back from 2days of OBS yesterday. showered when i got home then nigel called and i was outta the house again to meet him. haha.

i double booked myself today as well.
so i had to push back meeting swen cause my colleagues wanted to have sorta a farewell lunch thing. so sweet right!

swen and i went to explore haji lane. we didn't explore very much of it cause it was so hot. we ended up sitting in a toy meuseum which was full of toys and prams and children things from like.. mummy&daddy's generation. it was a real neat place.

jon lee called me out today too so yeah my day was pretty packed and i only got home at tenish, which is an improvement from yesterday.

rah. i've actually got more going through my mind than i'm blogging. i'm not good at multitasking luh, this wenkai is bugging me for my blog url on facebook. by the way his dog is super cute. apparently it only poops when they take him out on walks. otherwise he keeps it in. and it's fluffy with a flat face. i like!! he ALSO said i can borrow it. BUT.. it doesn't know how to pee at the right places. maybe i'll borrow him next year after they've toilet-trained it.

A was like willing myself to go for a long long run in the hot sun.

B was like studying for social studies (tedious, somewhat meaningful but not really but maybe a bit)

C was like a cup of milo dino. refreshing to some degree, and kinda fun.

D was like water coming in to a dried up reservior. and i just absorbed as it brought life.

dinner with jonER was good. as overated as you may think handburger is, i reckon it's pretty good. i enjoyed the food a LOT. rah. plus, jonathan was talking a lot of rubbish. it was quite entertaining. but jokes aside, he probably didn't realise the new perspective he gave me on an issue i've been trying to deal with.

yiqian came over at ten plus to borrow my bicycle for tsze deng cause mummy wont let me cycle to east coast. she says it's too dangerous.

here's how our conversation went. i picked up the phone...

yiqian eh elisa, you're not cycling tmr right?

me: nope. my mother doesn't want me to die. (yet)

yiqian: ok.. me and elton are cycling.. tsze deng also wants to cycle. can.. lend him your bicycle?

me: yeah ok!

yiqian: gwyneth is also cycling.. so me, elton, tsze deng cycle there and you... take bus?

me: er.. ya..

yiqian: so you're gonna rent a bicycle in east coast?

me: ya!!

yiqian: so lame.
