his work is his life

i'd very much like for my work to be my life/my life to be my work.
had an extended conversation with robin today who made me a coffee on the house because he found out i had poorer coffee there the last time. almost like always, i was asking questions and listening to what it's like starting and running his own cafe. what i really liked was the way he is enjoying his work despite being fully aware of the challenges, and knowing how tricky certain things can get.
somewhere in the midst of the conversation i thought of another conversation (possibly with yuli) that raised the issue of how men need/want to get out there and hold a "proper" job for a bit and know they've been there done that before they move on - if they choose to. maybe it's got to do with finding their identify, or feeling that they've been able to survive some sort of initiation to manhood (though holding a 9-5job does not necessarily indicate manhood). anyway, i digress.
yes, im pretty sure now that i wanna be doing what i'm planning to do next year. even though i know it'll be... challenging. haha.
