chris willis challenge day 1
weather's so perfect today i wanna go to the beach and throw a frisbee!
after only 4 hours of sleep i dragged myself outta bed, made myself a bowl of cereal, put on my running shoes and headed to the track to meet joey.
slept too little.
ate too much.
but still completed 2.4km which was good.
the inital gettingouttabed was a drag, but so glad i did it. i was hoping to head over to manchester press for QT after the run, but seriously, i ate too much before the run and i still feel explosively full from breakfast.
there's just something about being outta the house early in the morning and doing something you aren't told to do. and sitting out on the lawn this morning made me want to plant a rooftop garden on Arrow. Would love to see that under utilized rooftop be a beautiful hang out place.
I was pleasantly surprised and really amazed last night when Gav and i headed to arrow at about 10.30pm. The Arrow kids were throwing a party for our swedish friend and it was fabulous! not overtly flashy, but i was swept away by the amount of effort put into the party, the level of energy in the place at that time of night, and even the fact that johan is not someone who's been part of the community for very long. hearing how grateful and happy he was as well was super. these are things you hardly ever come by when most people are comfortable in their own close knit circle of friends.
i also recently discovered a cafe that may turn out to be a new favourite - second to babka's of course (simply because that's my special place). yao yun and i had yummy salmon bagels there. and i had the cutest cup of coffee ever.
