walking to the inner parts

my computer got smashed with this bug thing. actually i dont even know if it was a virus. but anyway, i had to get by without my fully-functioning machine for one week. aunty yoke tyng and uncle siew kong were extremely kind to go through all the trouble to help me fix this painintheNEC up.

so im finally back and able to blog again. today's been a really good day. i didn't get any work done at all. (i will right after this.. no actually im planning to do work tmr morning)

i had breakfast with mark this morning at EIGHT-THIRTY AM! and surprisingly, he wasn't late! unlike most guys i know. i was pretty impressed. anyway, the weather was perfect, or rather it was on it's way to becoming perfect. it was a slightly chilly morning, but nonetheless good for a walk. so we took a 20min walk to brunswick street for breakfast at babka. never heard of it. i just picked it because i could smell the mushrooms! hahahahaha YUMMM! we almost ended up having breakfast at joe's garage but i wanted to try someplace different. the first and only time i went there was with daryl, mandy and dong slightly more than a year ago. wow. just thinking of that day makes me realise how time flies! dong and i weren't even talking half as much as we do now. and that day was the first time at the law library. and i was studying term 1 trinity math! hahaha.. crazy stuff!

here's where we ended up eating at and here's what we had. and there's mark pretending to be a spy. he's hilarious. i think he makes a good gal-pal because he's so much like a girl! why? because he's punctual, he's got long hair and he can multi-task. hahahaha :D

oh on out way back, we checked out this really pretty store which has shelves of soaps and moisturizers and creams and lippies and all the pretty little things! i loved it! i tried this hand cream which smelt like the soap they had at grand hyatt singapore a couple of years ago. i couldn't stop smelling my hands walking back!
i should also mention that on the way back, these two guys walked past us, one after the other. they were really ragged looking, one of them had a really red face, like it was stained. they were walking past clutching a plastic bag that was covering something. as we crossed paths, i heard a psssssssst sound, like the sound made by an aerosol spray. i nudged mark and asked him what they were doing. i was so scared they'd turn around and attack us with whatever they had in their hands. mark just replied with a "don't look". after some time, he told me that they were spraying paint into the plastic bags so they could sniff it. that's why one of the guys had a red-stained face. it's so scary, yet sad. i don't know. it just makes me frown, i can't exactly put a finger on how i feel. i met up with jakee shortly after i got home from brekkie. we walked past brunswick street to smith street where we started our shopping spree! well.. kinda spree. he didn't get anything from there unfortunately. i got a few good buys which im very happy about :D we popped into many interesting little shops which had quite interesting sale items. jake took a picture of me in my new vest i picked out from a salvation army store for 6 bucks. i'll go ask him for it soon.

anyway, here's a short, quick update on what i've been up to since slightly before my computer crashed. i had brekkie with tiff and mandy last monday (can't remember if i mentioned). madame sou sou's has extremely good frenchtoasts. go try. haha i was asking my friend how to pronounce madame sou sou's and all sort of other brand names like YSL. so cheem! oh he speaks french as his native language which is super cool coming from a singaporean point of view. he asked me if i was a fashion victim, i said no, but my ex housemate used to wonder how to pronounce these atas brand names. haha.
mid-week, i cut hilda's hair and gave her bangs. haha she was sooooo scared! (i was probably feeling more fear than she was! haha)

oh jake and adriel arrived on friday so we met up for a bit on saturday. they came over to slack while waiting for jem to come pick us and and bring us to glen waverly. i must say, it was really timely that they came just when my com crashed cause mummy managed to pass me an external hard disk to back up my stuff through jake.

on sunday, dong and i went for the RunFortheKids2009. we did the shorter run of 5.76km which left the both of us feeling like we could have run a tad more. the next run was 14km which was too much for us to finish considering the fact that neither of us went running regularly after the nike human race last year until just a month and a half ago. there's a great ocean road run which i'd like to do. but it's during winter. (and the great ocean road area's gonna be freezing!) and it's also during the time when dong would be really busy. so.... dunno. looks highly unlikely. we'll see. dong's thinking of doing the samsung run though - 21km. i think it's a bit crazy, but still worth a try. it'd be exciting! haha. :D
