cityscape

Believe it or not i had indomee for breakfast today because it was either that or shortbread and i wasn’t in the mood for buttery sweet things. Gwen and i left (her) house to Chris’ for morning coffee. Well we both had chai but the rest had coffee. Heh. I try to abstain from caffeine so that when i need it it works.
i took about.. 50 minutes to walk back home and then had to rush back outta the house to meet dong for lunch. He took me to a few new places! We had sushi at this Japanese-run sushi bar then he headed for a coffee at guavabean opposite. The barista was inspiring. Really. i only saw him make dong’s cup of coffee, but he makes each cup with such good cheer. Made me think about my career upon reflection. HAHA. No. I’m serious.
ANYWAY, i spent the whole afternoon all the way till about 4 plus roaming the Melbourne central business district. Never quite noticed how pretty it is! I particularly enjoyed walking the streets because i felt like i was somewhat lost in my own world and i knew nobody, wouldn’t see anybody, had no particular agenda other than to absorb my surroundings. Everything was spontaneous. I got a bit tired after awhile and spent another twenty minutes looking for a nice cafe to plop myself down for another 3 hours to journal before meeting sue-lee for dinner. It wasn’t easy looking for one! I chanced upon this rather well hidden cafe on the way to the giraffe cafe. Quite a gem i reckon. But i get the feeling that the novelty of the ambience of such a cafe could wear out after a few more visits. I didn’t quite like the photos in the gallery attached to it. But still, definitely a place i’d take dong to check out.
