hot stuff
caleb and i walked around bugis area for a good half an hour or so looking for a washroom and we arrived at the conclusion that singapore has too many people and too few toilets - or rather BUGIS does.
i spoke a lot of mandarin and broken english today (more than usual anyway lol) cause i was at bugis street. caleb went there and had some difficulty understanding certain things the sales person was saying. i told him that he's gotta adapt and change his language channel in certain places. i remember mrs ganesan (AHS english teacher) telling the class once before that a good linguist adapts and changes the way he or she speaks depending on the context.
recently i've been finding 1 in 3 sentences i say like a tougue twister cause i keep tripping over my words. i hate that. maybe i need to talk more.
daddy brought me and caleb (it's not caleb and i - dont try correcting my grammar) to the hair dresser at the market today. muahaha.. had my hair trimmed and tidied up a little for $8.90 and i was really happy with the service there. i knew they knew their stuff.
And for the 2nd time in 1yr, i played basketball! it was at sengkang, with the CNL people. im just so comfortable around them. i suppose this sort of comfort can go both ways. you can realise how blessed you are and have the desire to share the blessing by bringing others in, OR you can just be so comfortable you dont want a stranger to change things and make things potentially awkard.
i mean of course there are also those who feel so comfortable they dont realise how comfortable they are and so... they just remain like that.
Charles Simeon - a Holy Trinity Anglican Vicar had his inner circle. the closer group of people whom he taught the bible and did life with and this circle probably kept changing, which was how he managed to bring up so many leaders. He never got too comfortable.
we headed to Macs after bball where alvin intorduced his super hot bottle of chilli from america. when i say super hot i MEAN super hot. in fact, the bottle had disclaimers, and warnings. they also had a little ear-digger shaped stick exactly the size of an actual ear-digger to indicate the recommended amount of chilli one could/should take.
(the amount of chilli that made me cry's on that fry. jonlee specially went to get that drink in case nigel or i needed it)
nigel and i super geh kiang. we dipped a bit of our twister fry into it and challenged each other to see who would take the first gulp of water. haha in about half a minute i started tearing, then the tearing got heavier.. hahahahaha... it was really burning luh, but i enjoyed the thrill of it. after awhile the guys told nigel to take the first gulp so that i'd have a drink too cause I DIDN"T WANNA LOSE! hahahahah. oh man. sian. give chance one.
desmond puked when we left macdonalds because he drank way too much trying to put out the flame in his mouth.
ah but that was real good stuff.
anyway, it's ps Tim's birthday today! jonlee and i called to wish him earlier on. :)) tim's such a blessing.
be still and know that I am God.
