delayed gratification
bout 3 months ago, i spotted a jacket at esprit which had been marked down from $80 to $64.
i'd wanted to get it, but i decided that it was worth the wait.
more than a month later i went back and it had dropped by another ten bucks. but still i decided to risk not getting it than pay $54 for sthg than could potentially be purchased at 30 or 40 plus bucks.
and guess what. i went back yesterday and got it for $18 :D
THAT was satisfying.
it's called delayed gratification - something that mummy taught both me and caleb when we were little. there was a point in time that she wouldn't say "no" or "wait", she'd just say "delayed gratification" and i'd know that if i wanted someting good i'd have to wait.
yet of course, waiting doesn't guarantee that you'd get anything at all. someone once said something about not saying you'd wait unless you know the cost of waiting.
ok halt. this post was supposed to be about waiting for the jacket. i'm not gonna go all deep and thoughtful right now. i've got a psych paper to study for.
ciao! :D
